The programme expores the reaons why statistics show that newer marriages, where young children are introduced, are very likely to experience difficult periods, in the adjustment of going from two to three and beyond.

Joanna talks about the importance of 'the handover' where the occupied partner passes care of the young child to the incoming other from work etc and then explores, in conversation, other ways couples learn to communicate and help each other.
