Tavistock Relationships provided two speakers at the British Psychoanalytic Councils annual conference. CEO Andrew Balfour and Head of Research Dr David Hewison gave two presentations at the event.

Dr Hewison gave a lecture entitled “Watch the Wall my darling while the Gentlemen go by.” – Legitimacy and value in psychoanalytic psychotherapy research.

The content explored why we often have an ambivalent attitude towards research in analytic work and the personal and political context that shapes this.

In the morning, Chair Susanna Abse, formerly of Tavistock Relationships, introduced a series of sessions on innovative practice, supported by research and evidence.

Andrew Balfour represented Tavistock Relationships, providing insight into the creation and implantation by the organisation of the Living Together with Dementia Programme.
