    Training: Module leader on Couple Theory 1, Psychodynamic Training. Tutor on Psychoanalytic Training

    Katherine trained at Tavistock Relationships initially as a couple and individual psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist and subsequently as a couple psychoanalytic psychotherapist. She is a faculty staff member, working as Clinical Lead on intake and allocations, particularly of low fee cases, and as a seminar leader and academic tutor.

    Andrew Balfour is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist trained to work with couples and individuals and is also qualified as a clinical psychologist. He has many years’ experience of working psychotherapeutically with couples, developing new projects and conducting research. He has published many papers in the field and has taught and lectured widely both in Britain and abroad. Andrew was appointed CEO in May 2016.

    Golshad Ghiaci is a Visiting Clinician and Clinical Lecturer at Tavistock Relationships where she is a supervisor and co-therapist on the Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Training. She is a Couple and Individual Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist and is a Senior Member of the British Psychotherapy Foundation. She is registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council and has a private practice of couple and individual psychotherapy and supervision in East Finchley, North London.

  • Krisztina Glausius

    Training: Supervisor on Psychodynamic Training

    Krisztina Glausius is a couple psychoanalytic psychotherapist and a former Head of Clinical Services, who currently works as a visiting supervisor and lecturer at Tavistock Relationships. Krisztina has developed several innovative approaches ranging from brief time limited couple therapy through to services providing therapeutic support to adopting parents or conflicted separating couples. She has co-authored papers resulting from these and other projects. She has published guides to support parents who separate as well as for professionals who are looking for ways to understand and work with couples.

    Experienced Training Analyst for the Institute of Group Analysis, and Jungian Analyst, working privately at the Queen Anne Street Practice and at home in Notting Hill, originally trained with London Marriage Guidance, has continued to work with couples ever since; also families eg conflict resolution involving older parents with adult ‘children’.

    Thomas trained at Tavistock Relationships initially as a couple and individual psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist and subsequently as a couple psychoanalytic psychotherapist. As academic tutor he meets with trainees to discuss their experience on the programme and to review their progress and development.

    Training: Module leader on Couple Theory, Psychodynamic Training, Supervisor and Tutor on Psychoanalytic Training

    David joined Tavistock Relationships in 1996 with a background in adult mental health social work and training. A Jungian training analyst and consultant couple psychoanalytic psychotherapist, he teaches and supervises on the psychodynamic and the psychoanalytic trainings as well as teaching and supervising internationally. He has a strong interest in links between Jungian and psychoanalytic thinking, creativity, race, and clinical practice and has published over 60 chapters, articles and reviews. He is currently leading the Centre's research and publication functions.

  • Amanda Hughes

    Training: Co Lead, Clinical Skills Module, Psychodynamic Training

    Amanda is an experienced couple and individual psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist and faculty staff member at Tavistock Relationships. She is responsible for the organisation of introductory courses, student applications and open evenings.  Amanda also teaches on the Certificate in the Study of the Couple Relationship (for qualified individual therapists), and on the advanced foundation training: Pre-Clinical course.

    Amanda has a long career in learning and development, HR, and coaching, having occupied Director positions in blue chip organisations as well as posts in education as a University Lecturer and a college Deputy Principal.  She has an extensive background in teaching and training in both the private and public sectors. 

  • Julie Humphries

    Julie has been a member of the Tavistock Relationships staff since 2011. Previously she was a Senior Lecturer in Sociology, where she researched and published in Domestic violence and Women’s mental health. Julie started her training at TR in 2007, first completing the Psychodynamic programme, and then going on to complete the couple psychoanalytic training. Now, Julie is a senior couple psychoanalytic psychotherapist at TR as well as heading up the training in her role as Director of Studies. She has published on Domestic Violence and Couple psychotherapy, Unconscious Beliefs and Adoption.

    Rohina is a couple and individual psychodynamic counsellor and psychotherapist and faculty member at Tavistock Relationships. In addition to the psychodynamic training, Rohina also teaches the Pre Clinical Course. She is an experienced organisational consultant providing consultation to organisations, reflective practice and training to teams and also role consultation and coaching to individuals.  Rohina has worked within the business, public and third sectors.  Her consultancy practice is informed by a psychodynamic model. Rohina has a MA in Psychoanalytic Approaches to Consultation from the Tavistock and Portman.

    Judith is a psychodynamic and psychosexual couple psychotherapist. She is a member of BACP and COSRT. After qualifying and working with individuals, couples and families as a therapist outside the UK for a number of years, Judith joined Tavistock Relationships in 2010 to undertake further training in couple therapy and psychosexual therapy and has worked as a psychosexual therapist in the NHS.

  • Sara Leon

    Training: Academic Tutor on Psychodynamic Training, Co-therapist and Seminar Leader of Infant Observation Module, Psychoanalaytic Training

    Sara is a psychoanalytic child and couple psychotherapist and she is also a qualified psychoanalytic parent infant psychotherapist. She worked for many years in the NHS as a child and adolescent psychotherapist, and as a training supervisor. She has much experience as a young child and infant observation seminar leader. She now works at the Tavistock Relationships as a visiting couple psychotherapist in the general service and in the parenting service.

  • Mary Morgan

    Training: Supervisor, Psychoanalytic Training

    Mary Morgan is a Psychoanalyst, Consultant Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, Fellow of the British Psychoanalytical Society, Senior Fellow of Tavistock Relationships and Honorary Member of the Polish Society for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. She is European member of the IPACommittee in Couple and Family Psychoanalysis.

    Until quite recently Mary was the Reader in Couple Psychoanalysis and Head of the MA in Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy at Tavistock Relationships. She has written extensively in field of couple psychoanalysis and teaches and supervises internationally. Her book: ‘A Couple State of Mind: Psychoanalysis of Couples – the Tavistock Relationships Model’ was published recently by Routledge.

  • Viveka Nyberg

    Training: Supervisor and Clinical Seminar Leader, Psychoanalytic Training

    Viveka Nyberg is a Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist. She is a lecturer and visiting clinician at Tavistock Relationships and Tavistock Clinic in London. Graduate Member of the Tavistock Institute of Medical Psychology. She trained with the British Association of Psychotherapists, (now British Psychotherapy Foundation). Writings include Couple Attachments: Theoretical and Clinical Studies, Karnac, (2007), with Molly Ludlam and Developing a Mentalization-Based Treatment (MBT) for Therapeutic Intervention With Couples (MBT-CT) with Leezah Hertzmann in Couple and Family Psychoanalysis, 2(4) 2014.

  • Lorna Robinson

    Formerly a literary journalist, working for many years at the Telegraph, Lorna Robinson is a couple psychoanalytic psychotherapist, faculty staff member and clinical lecturer at Tavistock Relationships. She programmes the centre’s conferences and events, including continuing professional development, as well as its summer and winter schools for developing and advanced practitioners.

  • Patsy Ryz

    Training: Supervisor, Psychodynamic Training

    Patsy Ryz is a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and a Psychoanalytic Couple Psychotherapist. She has worked for a number of years in a wide variety of NHS settings and also in the Voluntary Sector where she headed up a Child and Family Consultation Service. Patsy is a Visiting Clinician at Tavistock Relationships where she undertakes assessments and supervision. She has previously been involved in long-term work with couples and in the Parenting Together and Parents in Dispute Services. Patsy also works in Private Practice in North London where in addition to seeing parents and couples, she offers consultation to schools and supervision to other professionals.

    Sarah Vicary is a psychodynamic couple and individual relationship and psychosexual therapist. Over many years at Tavistock Relationships, she has worked in a number of the clinical services including mentalization‐based couple therapy, divorce and separation and the Adopting Together project. 

  • Catriona Wrottesley

    Training: Supervisor and Clinical Technique Seminar Leader on Psychodynamic training, Co-therapist, Psychoanalytic Training

    Catriona is a senior couple psychoanalytic psychotherapist and individual psychodynamic psychotherapist. She joined Tavistock Relationships faculty in 2012 and initially lead and managed short courses and conferences. She was Head of the MA in Couple and Individual Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy and MSc in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy at TR, and was then Head of the MA in Couple Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy until July 2020. She continues to work as a therapist in the clinical service and as a supervisor and clinical lecturer at TR, as well as interviewing prospective students as part of the admissions team. She has published widely, and writes and reviews for a number of psychoanalytic journals.
