Training to enhance relationship support for adoptive parents.

Tavistock Relationships has historically received funding from the Department for Education to deliver a therapeutic programme aimed specifically at supporting the couple relationship of adoptive parents.

Our Adopting Together Service is Ofsted registered and is designed to help couples take care of their relationship, manage the stresses of parenting and enhance the lives of their children.

We have also run a range of trainings for the adoption workforce. The purpose of these is to help adoption practitioners and mangers understand the importance of the couple relationship in the adoption process. There is the opportunity for a selected number of adoption practitioners to undertake the Parents as Partners group work training with a view to introducing these groups into the field of adoption.

This training examines the transition to parenthood for adoptive couples and the specific issues that arise for these couples during and after the adoption process.
